YouthLens issues 10-12 online
-----------------------------
Greetings,
YouthNet is pleased to announce that three new YouthLens are now
available on Family Health International's (FHI) Web site at:
http://www.fhi.org/en/Youth/YouthNet/Publications/YouthLens+English.htm
* No. 10: Nonconsensual Sex among Youth (in collaboration with
the Population Council/India and WHO)
* No. 11: Maternal Health Care among Adolescents (in collabora-
tion with WHO)
* No. 12: Expanding Contraceptive Options and Access for Youth
These four-page YouthLens research briefs summarize the latest
information on key issues regarding reproductive health and HIV
prevention among youth ages 10 to 24. If you would like us to
mail hard copies to you, please send an e-mail to:
mailto:youthnetpubs@fhi.org
The issues will be available in Spanish and French in about six
weeks.
Through our electronic announcements, two new YouthNet-supported
publications have attracted wide attention: a new fertility
awareness manual geared towards youth ages 10 to 14 and a sum-
mary of a technical meeting on HIV and youth. In February alone,
more than 5,000 people downloaded one of these from our Web
site:
http://www.fhi.org/en/Youth/YouthNet/Publications/otherpubs.htm
look under "Training Materials" and "Meeting Reports".
Current YouthNet activities include our continuing collaboration
with MTV to bring HIV messages to youth around the world, the
pre-testing of a guide on how to increase youth participation,
the development of a Web-based compendium on youth reproductive
health/HIV policies, the development of a manual for VCT youth
counsellors, field programs in Tanzania and Namibia, and a broad
research program. You will be hearing more about these in the
future.
