RFI: Essential Clinical and Public Health Packages (3)
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Dr Sharif,
I am responding to you recent e-mail to AFRO-NETS, concerning
the proposed work on health packages for specific levels of
care.
The WHO several years ago started work on a resource planning
tool, called the Essential Health Care Technology Package
(EHTP), which can be used to model the resource requirements for
various levels of care. The system (software based) provides a
new and unique methodology which links clinical practice guide-
lines, demographic data and health packages. Although, the tool
cannot be used primarily to determine what services should be
offered at a specific level of care, it can be used to determine
the resource requirements and affordability of such services,
once identified.
We would be happy to forward to you further information on the
EHTP.
With kind regards,
Peter Heimann
