Behaviour Change Communications Consultant sought

The National AIDS Coordinating Agency (NACA) of the Government
of Botswana (http://www.naca.gov.bw/about_exec.htm) requires a
short-term (flexible 4 - 12 month) behavior change communica-
tions-training consultant to round out a three-member consulting
team that will:

* Develop and pilot a training program and manual in behavior
change interventions and communications program development
(Phase I), and
* Train a local six-person training staff in the sustainable im-
plementation of the program, such that the training staff is
technically equipped to offer trainings and direct consultation
in behavior change interventions and communications development
(Phase II).

The consultant must be an international expert in behavior
change communications for community mobilization related to
HIV/AIDS. The other consultant must have demonstrated experience
as a master trainer of trainers. Both positions require excel-

be given to any candidates with prior experience writ-

sign experience.

The Consultant should have:

* Graduate-level coursework in health behavior and health educa-
tion principles for practice;

* Minimum of four years of experience in public health program
planning, implementation, and training - preferably related to
HIV/AIDS.

Team members should together stockpile proficiencies in train-
ing, health communications and behavioral science, formative
evaluation and qualitative methods skills, intervention and com-
munications development experience relevant to HIV/AIDS, and
monitoring and evaluation skills.

They should also have a solid grasp on training principles and
methods, and international intervention and communication best
practice strategies relevant to the challenges posed by the epi-
demic in Botswana.

Interested applicants should apply as individuals for considera-
tion to become one of the members of the consulting team. A
cover letter and CV detailing each applicant's prior experience,
skills and qualifications will be necessary for consideration.

Applicants should submit CVs and cover letters no later than May
31, 2004 to be considered for this consultancy. These materials
