The role of science in development (5)
--------------------------------------

Dear Professor, Colleagues and Friends of the List

Many Africans want to improve their skills in research in their
fields. They are not supported by the decision makers in their
countries (developing countries) and by the great countries'
people who are in advance in Science and Technology. How do you
think that you can induce the change on those feelings of our
authorities? How do you think that someone can explain that in
those countries many of Post Graduate Students are unemployed?
What do you suggest them to do?

In my country, a GNO named ORSTA (Organisation de Recherche en
Sciences et Technique d'Afrique in French / Science and Technol-
ogy Research Organization in Africa - STROA in English) is cre-
ated by those persons who believe on Science and Technology to
support the development of the country. The aim of that Organi-
zation is to associate all Specialists of Sciences to solve the
development problems in African Countries. They are looking for
materials to begin their activities and will be glad to receive
your comments.

Many thanks,

Alfred ACAKPO MD, MSc Food and Nutrition
