Open Learning on Enteric Pathogens
----------------------------------

Dear colleagues,

I am happy to introduce you the forthcoming
http://www.aclisassari.com/acli-openlearning
Internet site.

This course starts out as a learning opportunity, to gather and
distribute scientific information, to create collaboration be-
tween Universities and Institution from developing countries and
other participating countries, availing itself of the contribu-
tion from experts on enteric pathogens from around the world.
The Open Learning on Enteric Pathogens project was introduced on
May 5 to 7 2004 in Tangier (MAR), in the presence of Morocco
Surgeon General Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, who praised for a suc-
cessful project. Project designates are the University of Sas-
sari, the Institut Pasteur du Maroc, the University of Zimbabwe,
WHO-CRS and CEFIBO CONICET, and it's open to subscription for
any University, research centre and Public Health institution.

As you'll see browsing the ACLI Openlearning website, all pages
are in English and they are presented in a plain and clear way,
to be user-friendly for the inexperienced user too.

To actively participate, you are invited to fill in the sub-
scription form and follow the instructions to produce didactic
materials you want to suggest.

The site is presented on a so-called Home page, where you'll
find a brief description of the whole project.

In the Send file page (subscription required), you'll find a
simple wizard which will guide you through the file upload for
those teachers who want to contribute to the project with their
own materials.

The didactic materials will be divided in two areas basic and
advanced, and they will be in MS PowerPoint or HTML format, and
reduced in size, to be available also for those users whose
hardware and software instruments are not up to date.

Thanks to the forum, it'll be possible to deepen scientific sub-
jects, under the direct supervision of the Advisory Committee.
The forum is a primary support system, but it also represents a
powerful communication channel, where users can deepen personal
relationships with teachers and students from other countries,
in a climate we hope to be completely intercultural.

In the link page will have place those web sites the Advisory
Committee will consider valuable to the project.

There is also a news area, called Events. As you can see, it's
already advised the presentation which took place in Tangier
(MAR), in the presence of Morocco Surgeon General Mohamed Cheikh
Biadillah on May 5 to 7, 2004.

In the bibliography section will be an index of articles on en-
teric pathologies and, whenever possible, direct links to ab-
stract or a full text download.

Don't miss the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section, in
which you can find the answers to the most common issues when
using the site.

In the instructions page, you'll find all information on how to
format, publish and send your presentation so it can be included
in the site.

For any particular request, feel free to use the dedicated area
on the forum, or use the contact page.

Thanks again.
