Evaluation of performance of HIV/AIDS efforts in SSA (2)

In response to Dr Abdu Mohiddin's request for literature around
performance of HIV/AIDS efforts in Sub Saharan Africa.

Amongst the many excellent websites - a few that may be worth a
look for this purpose include:

1. POPULATION AND HEALTH INFO-SHARE:

A library of electronic documents created by

in reproductive and child health, HIV/AIDS, and population. You
can search for HIV related documents under three categories:
HIV/AIDS general; HIV/AIDS prevention; HIV/AIDS care and treat-
ment.

2. ELDIS:

Excellent guide produced in collaboration with the DFID Health
Resource Centre. Includes country profiles, research, reports,
national responses.

3. HIV INSITE:
http://hivinsite.ucsf.edu/InSite

Comprehensive up to date info on HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention
and policy from the University of California San Francisco
School of Medicine. If you go to the 'countries and regions
page' there is a link to 'sub-Saharan Africa' and then pages for
each country with HIV/AIDS-specific country profiles, general
health and development profiles, documents and reports, policy
papers.

4. SYNERGY AIDS:

The USAID HIV/AIDS profiles outline country and region-specific
information on epidemiology, factors contributing to the dis-
ease's spread, challenges faced in mitigating the epidemic, na-
tional- and regional-level responses to date, and a summary of
USAID-funded HIV/AIDS activities.
