Authentication of Invitation to attend the 4th Child and Youth
Care Conference 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------

Dear 'Netters'

I received a personal invitation to attend the above conference
due 6th - 10th December, 2004, to be held at the Statehouse Con-
vention Center, 100 East Markhan, Little Rock, Arkansas, USA.
The organisers state the objective as "to engage participants in
building effective research networks and partnerships; identify
the strategies and infrastructure needed to build and maintain a
youth agenda; promote the principles of positive youth develop-
ment".

Has anyone else around the region been invited, or been a past
participant, and therefore can vouch for the authenticity of the
conference?

According to the Chairman of the organising committee, and the
secretariat, they have managed to secure support from their
partners, donors, sponsors and the State Government of Arkansas.
Visa assistance will be rendered to any participant that re-
quires entry visa into the United States. However, a registra-
tion fee of US$ 250 (refundable) is asked of intending partici-
pants. There is no website provided.

Does this sound familiar, peculiar or what?

Please advise.
