Dear John

I would advise you write back to the organisers (if at all you
received an e-invitation and as thus there is an address) making
inquiry of who they are, their background, previous conferences
they ever held, who are their target audiences and participants,
a list of other participants (probably you might know one or two
other participants from the list), how they got hold of your ad-
dress etc.

 From their reply (if will ever come), you may sieve out glitter-
ing pieces of broken bottle from diamond blocks!!
