RFI: Gender, Human Rights, HIV/AIDS Policy and the Law
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues
As part of our Gender, Human Rights and HIV/AIDS policy and le-
gal reform program, we are embarking on a desk review of studies
and other literature available which have analyzed policy and
legislation in southern Africa - preferably HIV/AIDS related
ones - from a gender and human rights perspective.
Therefore I am appealing for any information and documentation
in this area, or on where I could access (and preferably ex-
haust) such information and documentation. An example of the
type of material I am looking for is the "AIDS Law Project Re-
view of HIV/AIDS Legislation in six Southern African Countries"
- Dec 2002.
The primary purpose of this activity is to offer evidence-based
information as we plan interventions that will lead to review or
establishment of gender transformed and human rights sensitive
policy and legislation which are implementable and accessible
for the protection and well-being of women and girls in the re-
gion.
I would appreciate if you could distribute this appeal to your
other networks.
Eagerly looking forward to your kind support and assistance.
