Is the US nurse labor market strengthening?

How does this impact Africa?

A study of the nurse labor market in the US published online No-
vember 17 in the journal, Health Affairs, indicates that despite
increases in employment of nearly 185,000 hospital RNs since
2001, the shortage of nurses in the country is not about to end
soon. This may sound like good news to young nurses in Africa
looking to work in the United States. But such potential nurse-
émigrés are better advised to closely examine the US RN market
trends before taking the plunge.
