Call for participants at Disability Knowledge and Research Pro-
gramme Roundtable in India
---------------------------------------------------------------

Dates and venue:
24th -26th February 2005
Blind People's Association
Jagdish Patel Chowk, Surdas Marg, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad, India

This is the second roundtable discussion in a series of three
that will look at the links between poverty and development, and
mainstreaming disability in development. It is being organised
by the Blind People's Association, India (BPA) and Healthlink
Worldwide (UK) as part of the Disability Knowledge and Research
Programme: http://www.disabilitykar.net/

The aim of the roundtable discussion is to explore how to main-
stream disability in development, providing an arena for reflec-
tion on, sharing of and learning from experience. This roundta-
ble will focus on planning for mainstreaming in development (a
"how to" discussion).

The roundtable will provide an opportunity for decision-makers
to learn from and hear the views and experiences of people with
disabilities, disabled people's organisations, and organisations
and institutions working on disability in the South, bridging
the communication gap between stakeholders at the grassroots
level and policy makers.

For further information about the roundtable and how to enrol
visit: http://www.disabilitykar.net/events/indiaroundtable.html
or mailto:sizer.a@healthlink.org.uk

The programme will also host an online discussion about main-
streaming disability. Please sign up at:

Or you can email Niki Maniam <maniam.n@healthlink.org.uk> for
more details.

The discussion will start on the 1st February 2005 and will be
moderated by BPA.
