Ashley Judd Mobilizes African Churches to Address HIV/AIDS

YouthAIDS Global Ambassador Ashley Judd called on religious
leaders from 13 African countries to challenge cultural and re-
ligious practices that render young women vulnerable to HIV in-
fection. Ms. Judd, on a three-week tour of Population Services
International (PSI) Africa programs, spoke to an HIV/AIDS pre-
vention seminar of the All Africa Conference of Churches in Nai-
robi, Kenya encouraging leaders to design an AIDS prevention
strategy for their churches. The seminar was supported by PSI
and funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
