RFI: salaries and pre-service training costs (8)
------------------------------------------------
Dear Eric,
I believe that this project by Physicians for Human Rights is an
original and innovator approach to a serious problem. I also
think that your decision to exclude the cost of the medicines
and supplies is easily justified, as so many global financing
mechanisms are addressing that issue.
However, I would like to ask you to please include the cost to
train the Supply Chain & Logistics staff of those projects.
These are the people who have to procure, warehouse, quality
control, manage stock levels, pack the trucks and transport the
medicines and supplies. You can have the doctors, you can have
the pharmacists, you can have the ARVs -- but if there is noone
who knows accurate stock levels or how to manage the fleet, you
won't have the right supplies at the right location at the right
time. And then it won't matter how many clinical staff you have
trained. Please don't forget the supply chain staff.
Warm regards,
Libby Levison
