One World Beat 2005: Please Join Us Worldwide to Beat HIV/AIDS
--------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Friends, Artists, Fans, Volunteers, and Organizers,

One World Beat Festival 2005 is fast approaching and concerts
are in the works in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Burkina Faso,
Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Germany,
Ghana, India, Nigeria, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Switzerland,
Thailand, United States, Uganda, Wales, and Zimbabwe. The re-
sponse from artists and volunteers has been great and many new
musicians have joined us!

This year's events will focus on education for youth affected by
HIV/AIDS, extreme poverty, and natural disasters. For our Beat
the Wave tsunami-relief project, donations will go to Save the
Children, and for our Give A Child A Chance project, funds will
go to Outside the Dream (paying school expenses for HIV/AIDS or-
phans in Uganda and India) and Liberation Through Education
(providing education for children in Haiti). For more info see
http://www.savethechildren.org, http://www.outsidethedream.org,
and http://www.liberationthrougheducation.org.

Our 10-day festival, from March 18-27th, will feature perform-
ances at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City and Tokyo Joe's in
Bangkok, and for local causes ranging from better HIV/AIDS
treatments in India to tsunami relief in Thailand. OWB Zimbabwe
will kick off its launch with an event in Harare, while an Afro-
Beat band in Scotland is celebrating a new album release in Ed-
inburgh. There is an arts and music festival in Costa Rica, and
children affected by HIV/AIDS in Tanzania will benefit from a
concert in Australia intended as the inauguration of the STIR
youth movement. Mini-fests are planned for Nigeria, the USA, and
Burkina Faso.

In addition, we have created an exciting new project--Drumming
in One World Beat--which will unite the world in one hour of
drumming on March 19th-20th, from 5-6pm EST-USA. Musicians and
other participants from the USA, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Taiwan,
and the Netherlands have already signed up, and we welcome any-
one who is interested! See:

Thank you for being part of One World Beat, helping to make a
difference for children through music, and we look forward to a
fantastic festival 2005!
