Chembio Diagnostic Systems, Inc., a New York-based diagnostic
test developer and manufacturer, is seeking a Regional Represen-
tative in Africa to promote the use and sale of its HIV and TB
rapid tests. This is an opportunity to make an impact on the
front end of screening and prevention in Africa with a growing
US company. The candidate will be located in one of the major
PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) countries
(i.e., Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria) in order to facili-
tate Chembio's goal to more fully participate in the emerging
programs for Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT)
screening, and Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT), as well
as population surveillance.

Chembio Diagnostics, Inc. possesses expertise in the development
and manufacturing of rapid test products for various indica-
tions, including HIV, Tuberculosis and BSE (a.k.a. Mad Cow Dis-
ease). As part of Chembio's strategy to provide its HIV rapid
tests to millions of people worldwide through governmental and
non-governmental agencies, selected distributors and strategic
partners, Chembio Diagnostics, Inc. (through its subsidiary
Chembio Diagnostic Systems Inc.) has recently participated in
numerous evaluations of its HIV rapid tests with leading agen-
cies and companies around the world

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creating awareness of Chembio's rapid HIV in each PEPFAR focus
country through meetings with the relevant government officials,
donor agencies and NGOs.
- Supporting Chembio's efforts to have its HIV tests incorpo-
rated into national HIV testing algorithms.
- In conjunction with VP of Sales and Marketing, take the lead
in increasing sales and broadening market share of Chembio HIV
tests.
- Developing and managing a network of local distributors.
- Supporting Chembio and local distributors with regulatory and
registration process, and providing product support to end users
of Chembio's rapid tests.

This senior level position is for an individual that is willing
to travel extensively throughout the Africa continent, and that
has at least five to ten years of experience and contacts with
some or all of the following:

- Working with public health organizations and agencies (WHO,
CDC)
- Working with health ministries in Africa
- Working with non-governmental service organizations in
HIV/AIDS and reproductive health (PSI, FHI, MSF) in Africa

The candidate will also have the capacity to learn the technical
aspects of the product, competitive products and the needs of
the market. Local languages an obvious plus. Salary and benefits
commensurate with experience.
