Living in dire poverty on less than $1 a day (2)
------------------------------------------------

This is just by the way.... It is not extremely scientific but
politics has a huge impact on Public Health and Research.

Read the statements of Umaru Dikko on the duration and allow-
ances of the Jamboree (National Conference) in Abuja (Vanguard
on the web 6th March, 2005)

Interviewer: ...But how long is more appropriate? (for the con-
ference)

Dikko: To be frank with you, three months is too short, for a
job of that magnitude. I think nine months is appropriate. But I
tell you, it's not going to be easy for us. You see, people
think that all we are there to do is to make money, they have
forgotten that it's just a selfless disservice. What do we do
with N20,000 a day. You leave your family at home; you come and
lodge in hotel, and eat and do a lot of things. With N20,000 you
can do nothing, I think we should be appreciated.

Isn't this ridiculous? In a country where people live in dire
poverty on less than $1 a day? which job? which magnitude?
