Editorial Consultant at The Lancet

I am an editorial consultant for 'The Lancet'. My job is to pro-
mote research from Africa, suggest topics for review, authors 
for reviews etc. (details please see below). There must be lots 
of things worth promoting at Wits Medical school. Do you have 
any idea how I can get more information what certain departments 
are doing? Would it be possible to put a short comment on the 
Wits Website if researchers want to contact me with any great 
news about their research?

Many thanks for applying for the post of Editorial Consultant at 
The Lancet. I am pleased to be writing to say that we would very 
much like you to take on this role.
 
To date, we are aiming for 25 people from each of: North Amer-
ica, Europe, "rich" rest of world, and "poor" rest of world.
 
The role of Editorial Consultant has been kept rather general, 
as we do not want to impose limits on any contribution you might 
make (e.g., peer review, suggesting peer-reviewers' names, sug-
gesting topics we could cover in Editorials, Comment, etc.). The 
new role, coming after the summer, is to contribute to our rede-
veloped web site.
 
In the meantime, welcome to the team here. We will soon assemble 
the whole list of Editorial Consultants on our website, and in-
side the back cover of the printed journal.
