ANNOUNCEMENT
Availability of Funds to Civil Sector Organizations for HIV/AIDS
Projects Pact Inc., with funding from the U.S. Government
through the USAID Regional HIV/AIDS Office (RHAP) in South Af-
rica, is pleased to announce the availability of funds to
strengthen the civil sector response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in
Swaziland. Pact Inc. will make funds available for HIV/AIDS pro-
jects in Swaziland and to assist with providing capacity-
building to the civil sector and participating organizations.
This announcement references an Annual Program Statement (APS)
to disseminate information about Pact's program for the manage-
ment of HIV/AIDS sub-grants to prospective grant recipients in
order to provide them with a fair opportunity to submit applica-
tions for funding. The APS describes the project objectives, ex-
plains the technical area of focus, details the process and cri-
teria for evaluating applications and provides information on
funding, cost-share requirements, application format and other
relevant information.
Who can apply?
* Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
* Faith-based organizations (FBOs)
* Community-based organizations (CBOs)
Organizations can apply individually or in partnership with oth-
ers.
What kinds of projects can be supported?
* Prevention of HIV transmission (not including PMTCT or VCT)
* Palliative care
* Care of orphans and vulnerable children
The range of awards is $50,000 to $300,000 (USD).

There are three ways of obtaining an application:

Due Date for applications:
Applications are due on June 27, 2005 at 16h30. See APS document
for delivery address.
