Nigeria Abstinence Coalition Meeting Brief
------------------------------------------

Dear Abstinence Advocate,

The May 2005 monthly meeting of the Nigeria Abstinence Coalition
held as scheduled at the HOPE Worldwide Nigeria office on May
31. It was attended by representatives of 25 NGOs, FBOs and CBOs
from Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Akure and others. There was increase
in the number of new member organizations. It was impressive.

The Gede Foundation was fully represented, and Mr. Aliyu Ahmed
made significant contributions in fine-tuning the Strategic
Framework that is being finalized. Mr Yomi Oduwole of the Fu-
tures Group gave personal but insightful perspectives on how to
mainstream abstinence/fidelity strategy in Nigeria. We express
sincere gratitude for the sacrifices and help.

Four posters were circulated for inputs by members; it is being
initiated by Gede Foundation. Further developments will be re-
ported in due course.

Date of next meeting is last Tuesday of June (26th June) same
time and venue. Please bookmark the date.

Let's keep the Abstinence Flag: Nigeria needs IT!
