Famine in Niger - Another example of failed development (4)
-----------------------------------------------------------

No matter the efficiency or inefficiency of Official Development
Related Agencies (ODRA) of the north in Africa, failed develop-
ment will continue to happen in African countries. This is true
insofar as these countries stay dependent on handouts and bail-
outs from the north. The north structured the dependency syn-
drome for its strategic national objectives and will change
nothing on its own accord. Simple reality!

Africans must awaken to learn and practice a 12-step Process of
Recovery and Change as enunciated below:

12-Steps to African Recovery and Change

Step 1: We as Africans admit that we are powerless over our-
selves and our respective lives and nations have become unman-
ageable.

Step 2: We have come to believe that our Creator as a power
greater than us will restore us to sanity.

Step 3: We make a conscious decision to turn our will and our
lives to the care of our Creator and respective nations and not
to any other.

Step 4: We will continue to make searching and fearless moral
inventory of ourselves.

Step 5: We admit to ourselves, our Creator and others, the exact
nature of our ills.

Step 6: We are entirely ready to have our Creator remove all our
defects of nationhood through self-help.

Step 7: We humbly ask His help to remove our ills and shortcom-
ings.

Step 8: We know those that harm us and those we harm and are
willing to make amends.

Step 9: Our willingness to make directs amends to those that
harm us and we harm is conditional on our national interest
only.

Step 10: We will continue to take inventory of our ourselves and
whenever we were wrong promptly admit and correct it.

Step 11: We seek only through knowledge, prayer and continuos
self-evaluation to improve ourselves and our conscious contact
with our Creator; praying only to achieve our Creator's will for
us and the power to carry that out.

Step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these
steps, we will carry this message to all and practice these
principles in all our affairs.
