"Vision 2015: Your Future" Youth Arts Contest
---------------------------------------------
(MDGs focus) Seeks Local Host Orgs (29 August deadline)

CREATIVE CHANGE TRAVELING ARTS EXHIBITION

Seeking Local Organization to Host Youth Arts Exhibition high-
lighting MDGs

As the Millennium +5 Summit draws near we are working on orga-
nizing a traveling arts exhibition that showcases images of pho-
tographs, paintings, mixed-media and digiarts; multi-media
video, sound, and texts including poetry, short essays submitted
by youth worldwide [Nepal, Nigeria, USA, Greece, Australia, Af-
ghanistan, Netherlands, Spain, Uganda, Russia, Zimbabwe, Paki-
stan, Egypt, UK, Canada, India, Sweden, Philippines, Italy, Is-
rael, and more]. Artworks are based on and highlight developmen-
tal issues such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, women empowerment, educa-
tion, environment/ water. The exhibition will also provide in-
formation on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

On April 1st, 2005 the ?Vision 2015: Your Future? Youth Arts
Contest was launched by TakingITGlobal and Arts For Global De-
velopment, Inc. [Art4Development.Net] in partnership with the UN
Millennium Campaign. The youth arts contest aimed at promoting
the ideals of MDGs, educating, inspiring, and encouraging young
citizens around the world in their efforts to hold key decision-
makers / authorities accountable for the promises they made at
the Millennium Summit. The objective of the online contest was
also to learn young artists' perspectives / interpretation of
these vital issues, how they envision the world, their world in
year 2015! Young artists were encouraged to emphasize their
hopes, fears, anxieties, challenges, goals, and dreams in their
artwork. The contest closed on May 31st, 2005 and the online-
exhibition is currently taking place.

Through the exposure of selected youth artworks submitted via
the ?Vision 2015: Your Future Arts Contest? as well as TIG?s
monthly theme contests, the CreativeChange Traveling Arts Exhi-
bition will help:
? continue generate awareness on the MDGs and help inspire oth-
ers to take action to overcome social and economic challenges;
? recognize those active creative young individuals worldwide,
give voice, and share their work, and acknowledge as well as en-
courage their role in the development field, particularly in
achieving the MDGs;
? support the interdisciplinary approach of arts in social
change and development.

Visitors of the exhibition will be able to live the experience,
see and hear right on the site! They will be invited to interact
with the exhibition, so as the exhibition travels a web of mes-
sages and countries is woven.

Along with the artworks a multimedia video will present all ele-
ments of the exhibition, information, and additional artworks
that are not tangibly showcased during the traveling exhibi-
tion? The sound project will help the visitors visualize situa-
tions and circumstances, become curious, think and feel... Brief
texts on MDGs, which are going to be in multi-language, will be
displayed on panels.

Exhibition and exhibition launching event specifications will be
discussed and decided upon once the host location is identified.
The looks of the exhibition as a unique installation will mainly
depend on the exhibition space and size.
