Forgive me for butting in, but fortunately malaria is primarily
anthroponotic i.e. not sustained by a zoonotic reservoir. Even
the expensive ACT chemotherapy can then be justified by treating
all cases of malaria and active case detection of latent malaria
in holoendemic areas to eradicate the disease once and for all!
After all the potential of developing resistance has never
stopped us from using chemotherapy.
