US AIDS Funding - promote abstinence, fidelity (2)

Dear All,

I for one believe this is the first time the real battle against
the spread of HIV/AIDS is about to commence! For about 20 years
now, we have touted condom as a veritable tool against the
spread of the virus and we are far from winning the war.

I believe this latest onslaught being spearheaded by the US gov-
ernment should serve as a challenge to nations of the world to
come to terms with the reality of the scourge and accept the
fact that condom has failed.

I do hope some will not see this view as being bigoted, just as
the supporters of condoms were not treated and called so! Re-
grettably, another e-forum that sent this information around to
its subscribers refused to place online the comment of a member
that was evidently not in support of the popular view for condom
but abstinence. However, the moderators of the AFRO-NETS e-forum
should be commended for being fair and truthful to all. Please
ride on!
