Thanks for clarifying this. Maybe the systematic campaign
against the use of DDT needs to be met with a really systematic
campaign in support of it.

If the African governments stood up for the use of DDT through
backing a formal statement to that effect through the major Af-
rican intergovernmental organizations, that surely would have an
effect. No?

What are the obstacles to having the Africans stand up? Are some
of them being bought off by the companies? Can that be docu-
mented?
