My name is Naomi Lightman and I am a research assistant for Dr.
Claudia Mitchell at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
McGill and UNESCO are currently working on a project to compile
a database of programs that deal with youth (aged 10-24), the
arts, and HIV & AIDS. We are also doing a literature review.
Eventually, the goal is to create a web-tool for youth that
brings all of that information to one place. The website will
incorporate projects that are specifically: arts-based (e.g. us-
ing theatre, puppetry, radio, graffiti, hip-hop, photo-voice,
etc.), participatory, youth-based and deal with HIV/AIDS educa-
tion. Please respond by email and give us your phone number, as
we may follow up by phone. Send the completed form to:
mailto:unesco.mcgill@gmail.com

The questions are as follows:

1) What organization are you a part of? Is your organization
youth-led or youth-serving (or both)?

2) Does your organization have core funding or do you rely on
project-based grants?

3) What are some of the initiatives that you have been involved
with that focus on youth and the arts in HIV/AIDS prevention and
education?

4) What other organizations can you think of that also are in-
volved in this type of work?

5) What different types of arts-based methodologies do you know
of being used for HIV/AIDS education?

6) What sort of web-based tool do you think would be most use-
ful?

7) What kinds of things would you want it to include? 8) Would
there be someone in your groups who would be able to respond to
our proposal for the web-tool?
