MRC Laboratories, The Gambia is the Council's largest establish-
ment conducting medical research in a developing country. The
Unit aims to improve the health of people in low-income coun-
tries by excellence in multi-disciplinary research programmes.

We are interested in receiving applications from candidates with
a Masters Degree in any discipline that requires active use of
database technology. You will have extensive demonstrable ex-
perience of developing MS Access databases, extensive experience
in designing data models for relational databases, extensive ex-
perience of programming using most of the following: VBA, ADO &
DAO, some experience of programming in ASP, ASP.NET and HTML,
some experience of creating Microsoft ADP projects. In addition,
you will have experience of using ODBC and OLEDB, exposure to
SQL Server (preferred 2000 and/or 2005).

We prefer some experience of Windows Mobile application develop-
ment (particularly for PDAs) using .Net, some experience of Vis-
ual Studio 2005 (or 2003) and an exposure to EAV data modelling.

The appointment will be for 3 years.

Salary will be paid in MRC's Occupational Group E1 plus allow-
ances. The minimum total salary package of 475,704 Dalasis per
annum. For displaced staff the package will include displacement
allowances, furnished accommodation, flights and other benefits.
