Training on Advocacy and Fundraising for NGO and Volunteer Man-
agers

AfriGrowth Foundation is a non-governmental organization commit-
ted to enhancing growth in communities through education and
initiation of empowerment programs which develops techniques for
self-sufficiency.

As part of its objectives to provide education as a means of en-
hancement and development, AfriGrowth Foundation announces the
inaugural ceremony of its training program ,starting with a
course Training for Advocacy and Fundraising for NGOs and Volun-
teer Managers

Below is a brief information about the training.

TITLE:
Training on Advocacy and Fundraising for NGO and Volunteer Man-
agers

DATE:
2nd ­ 3rd May, 2006.

VENUE:
Abuja, Nigeria

WORKSHOP CONTENT
The workshop content centers on Advocacy and Fundraising:

(a) ADVOCACY
The Advocacy part of the workshop is intended to be a hands-on
experience focusing on designing, implementing, monitoring and
evaluating an advocacy for policy change campaigns

The topics to be learned are:
- Identifying Problems
- Policy Issues and Solutions
- Setting Advocacy Goals
- Setting SMART Objectives
- Identifying and Researching Audiences
- Developing and Delivering Advocacy Messages
- Formal and Informal Decision-Making Processes
- Building Alliances, Networks and Coalitions
- Self Development Skills; Effective Presentations
- Fund-raising for Advocacy
- Monitoring and Evaluating Advocacy Efforts

(b) FUNDRAISING
The fundraising part of the workshop is intended to focus on:

Identifying Organization?s Assets
Setting Fundraising Goals
Identifying Individual and Institutional Funders
Choosing Fundraising Prospects
Building Fundraising Team
Mobilizing Fundraising Team
Developing Fundraising Plan Calendar

The Language of the Workshop
The meeting will be conducted in English

The training is subsidized and participants are to pay:
