"Genetic "Signatures" Elucidating Mechanisms of Antimicrobial Actions 
and Resistances in Microbial Pathogens

The lecture gives a complete overture on mechanisms of antimicrobial 
actions and resistance in microbial pathogens with  emphasis on enteric 
pathogens. The main outlines are:
- Molecular tools for detection and characterization of antimicrobial 
resistance genes
- Horizontal gene transfer versus clonal spread of resistant phenotypes
- Strategies for countering the threat of antimicrobial resistance
