How effective are male condoms in protecting men? (4)
----------------------------------------------------

I am catching this discussion in the middle, but would want to share with you my experiences of using a Male condom for the last 7 - 8 years. I have been able to use it that long and still enjoy sex and have not transmitted any semen to my partner due to several sessions I attended during the course of using it.

One of the challenging things had been touching my partner private parts then touch my penis to insert a condom there increase risk of getting infections from her or either way.

While the fact still remains that it is effective in controlling transmission other infections are most likely transferable depended by how fore play is done. Infections only STIs could be transferred through this way.

The proper use of a condom goes beyond just teaching a man to put the rubber on the erect penis. There is a lot of discipline and self control involved. Its a challenge though that could be made possible by constant communication between partners on how they have sexual intercourse. While it is a taboo in our culture for normally married couples to be discussing about which angle and which side and so forth it is the most effective way to ensure couples don't transmit infections amongst themselves and let alone transmit HIV.

Penetration before the other partner is really ready causes the condom to break.

Its a risk to use condoms that are nearly expiring. Doing one thing at a time ensures the condom is used properly. Most men usually want to tell their partners how beautiful they are while trying to put the condom on. The rush is to get in not wear the condom and this is a challenge. It is important as we contact our sessions on safer sex and use of condoms that we put emphasis on partners should never be in a hurry while having sex so that the condom is used safely and efficiently.

Its also possible to enjoy sex while putting on a condom, some don?t, its all in the mind I guess. They are expensive though but flavoured condoms spice up the whole act time and again and you can try different flavours all the time.

Male condoms are effective just as much as female condoms those in relationships should use them.

However men should not use condoms to cheat their wives this applies also to women. This eventually leads to inconsistent use of condoms with casual partners who might be HIV positive thereby increasing risk of getting the virus to their wives (that?s why women are more vulnerable to getting HIV than men).

I will continue to use condoms and urge all of you to do the same. All women are the same so men should not cheat their partners the greatest sex organ is your brains use it wisely Play it safe use a condom
