Man positive, women negative - how? (3)

It seems to me that discordant couples should not merit such surprise or wonder.  Out of the myriad possibilities/potential in the DNA of 6 billion plus humans, I believe it is only rational that the immune system (innate or specific) of a certain small percentage should be impervious to HIV. The question is by what mechanism and how can we utilize that knowledge to control the disease?
