The issue of discordant couples is a big dilemma world over. However the case in discussion is a typical case of one fearing the worst until he believed he has the worst. He must have really founded fears that would make him doubt lab test if gives something contradicting his current perception. He however needs counselling to undergo the test. For his own good and depending on medical laws in your country, you might want to go for DCT. We would all want to know how the results would be. Do all you can and share the results with us whether he knows the results or not. I don't think you would have broken any confidentiality since we don't know him.
