Dear Colleagues,

The organizing committee is delighted to invite you to participate in "the 1st International Congress of Central Asia Infectious Diseases (ICCAID)" organized by the Black Sea Society of Clinic Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (BSCMID) and The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA).

The congress is first of its kind, is scheduled to begin on October 30, and end on November 02, 2006 in the beautiful city of Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) under the auspices of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health.

Even though we are still in the planning process, the program of the congress will focus on important aspects of current infectious diseases, including developments in food-born infections, microbial resistance, tuberculosis, vaccines, epidemiology of endemic diseases and public health issues in developing countries and especially in Central Asia. All these and related issues will be complemented by meet-the-expert and poster sessions.

Since we have limited funds, we advise all participants to apply their institutions or sponsors for travel expenses and conference registration fee. Conference registration fee is 200 US dollars for those who apply before August 01, 2006, and 250 US Dollars for those who apply after this date. Participants from Former Soviet Union countries with papers/posters could apply for a waiver for congress registration. We plan to publish papers/posters presented in the conference in an edited volume after the conference.

Important dates to remember:
Deadline for abstract submission    :August 18, 2006
Deadline for early registration: August 01, 2006
Notification of the acceptance of abstracts to authors    : September 08, 2006
The First ICCAID date: 30 October, 2006- 01 November, 2006
