Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health, and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Technical Advisor, Clinical and Community Care (Arlington, VA)

Provide technical leadership by designing and developing global-level innovative technical strategies and tools in HIV/AIDS Clinical and Community Care for the Institute of HIV/AIDS. Main responsibilities include: Oversees and helps to ensure the quality of implemented HIV/AIDS clinical and community care activities of the Care and Treatment Division; Stimulates and acts as a resource for the development of innovative and expanded responses in clinical and community care for HIV, in particular, in areas such as HIV clinical management including preventive therapies, TB (tuberculosis)/HIV relationships, care for mothers and infants, the introduction of safe and effective use of ARVs (antiretroviral treatments), and palliative care; Provides strategic development, technical inputs, and technical assistance on clinical and community care activities at all levels, including the monitoring and evaluation of such activities; Provides overall technical leadership in clinical and community care in coordination with relevant officers in regional and country offices; Participates in proposal preparation and other resource development activities; Remains informed on current programs in the HIV/AIDS field by review of current literature and is alert to any implications of such experiences and research for department activities; Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, Care and Treatment Division.

MD degree with at least seven years experience in the field of HIV/AIDS clinical care. MPH degree preferred. Strong ART background and overseas field experience required. Fluency in French or Spanish desirable.

Associate Director, Resource Development and External Relations
(Arlington, VA)

As part of FHI's Resource Development and External Relations (RDER) team based in Washington DC, supervise internal processes for proposal development across the organization and represent FHI in external meetings with donors and partners. Main responsibilities include: Oversee the team of Senior Resource Development Officers on a daily basis; Oversee and improve the proposal development process; Assist with reviews of draft proposals in order to ensure that competitive proposals are submitted and that FHI's external relations are maintained and strengthened; and Perform other related duties as assigned. MS/MA in public health or related field and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience with international development programs; or BS/BA in public health or related field and a minimum of 9 years relevant experience with international development programs. Experience in resource development related to broad public health programs including HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, youth, family planning/reproductive health considered a strong plus.

Senior Program Officer, Tanzania

As a member of Tanzania FHI Institute for HIV/AIDS team, the SPO will be responsible for establishing and implementing program management systems in support of technical assistance programs. Main responsibilities include: Manage FHI Tanzania Technical Assistance programs and develop tools to strengthen management systems; Initiate, coordinate and write documents: SAPs, workplans, lessons learned docs and proposals; Assist in resource mobilization efforts of FHI Tanzania; Manage office and staff in the field, including consultants and interns; Edit and assist in developing presentations for senior staff and government counterparts. MS/MA in public health or related field, and 5-7 years relevant experience with international development programs; or BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience with international development programs. Overseas field experience required. English and Swahili (or willingness to learn Kiswahili) required.


Senior Technical Officer, Care and Treatment, Cambodia

The Senior Technical Officer, Care & Treatment is to function as the primary technical support to the FHI/Cambodia Country Program and the government's National Program on HIV/AIDS in the area of comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment including antiretroviral therapy (ART), prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections (OIs), PMTCT, VCT, community/home-based care and TB/HIV. The incumbent will work closely with and support the HIV care and treatment program of the Cambodia Ministry of Health (MOH), the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs (NCHADS) and other stakeholders. Medical doctor (MD) or nurse (RN), preferably with a Master's degree in public health or related field, with a minimum of 5 years experience in providing management of HIV/AIDS health services, including ART, within prevention and care programs. Requires experience with treatment and care in the developing world, particularly in Cambodia and Asia. Knowledge and experience in epidemiology and/or STI clinical management in resource-poor setting is advantageous, as well as fluency in Khmer. Fluency in English (speaking & writing) required. Some knowledge of French is beneficial. Must be able to travel within Cambodia and regionally up to 20% of the time.
