HDN to deliver more focused IAC2006 coverage
--------------------------------------------

If you can't get to this years' AIDS Conference in Toronto. and don't have time to wade through the deluge of reports coming out from the event...then HDN might have just the coverage you are looking for.

At the IAC2006 the HDN Key Correspondent (KC) Team is focusing their coverage on just three specific themes:
- HIV-related stigma
- Children and HIV/AIDS, and
- Follow-up on the Bangkok 2004 IAC's Leadership Statements

Our coverage will also be distributed by region and in some instances tailored to national audiences. Giving you what you want to read and not a deluge in your inbox.

So take your front row seat at IAC2006 by joining one of the national or regional eForums managed by HDN and its partners.

You can read regional coverage of the three focus themes on regional AIDS eForums in Africa (AF-AIDS) and Asia (SEA-AIDS). And in Ireland, Thailand, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, you can receive country-specific coverage through national eForums.

If you are already a member of one or more of these AIDS eForums, then do nothing. If not, you can join one or more these eForums FREE of charge. It couldn't be easier, all you need is an email address.

Join eForums here: http://www.healthdev.org/eforums/cms/join.asp

You can also encourage colleagues and friends to join the eForum that sounds most relevant, and share your perspectives, experiences and reactions with one another.

A new temporary eForum has also been set up for people interested specifically in receiving coverage of issues concerning children and AIDS. To join this new eForum for the duration of the conference, send an email to: join-childrenIAC2006@eforums.healthdev.org

Bangkok 2004 Leadership Statements
**********************************

Two years ago, the Bangkok IAC generated specific promises and commitments on AIDS.

The inaugural leadership programme of the IAC generated a set of concrete leadership commitments from various sectors - specific promises were also made to assess progress in 2006.

In Toronto, the HDN KC Team will be looking as listening to find out just how many of those commitments have been met. For those of us with short memories... fully searchable coverage of the 2004 IAC, including full text of individual Leadership Statements is available.

Here's wishing all the estimated 24,000 participants a fruitful and productive International AIDS conference in Toronto.
