Call for Entries: 2006 Global Media Awards for Excellence in Population
Reporting

Entries for the 2006 Global Media Awards may be submitted by any individual or organization from material appearing in the print and electronic media. Entries must be accompanied by a justification for nomination, English translation and two passport size photos of the nominee. An entry can be submitted in more than one category.

Organizations and individuals can submit their own work or nominate material by another organization or individual.

The Population Institute's Global Media Awards are devoted to drawing attention to global population issues. The awards honor those who have contributed to creating an awareness of population problems through their journalistic endeavors in a meritorious manner. The Population Institute is dedicated to making population an international priority by creating awareness of population problems and their relationship to resources and the environment, and developing strong leadership to design and implement rational solutions to population problems throughout the world. The Population Institute, a non-profit public interest group, encourages editors, news directors and journalists to acquire a more in-depth knowledge of population issues.

* Best Commercial Advertising Campaign

How to Submit

Entries must be sent to Global Media Awards Program, Population Institute, 107 Second Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002. A statement as to why the nominator believes that a particular entry merits a Media Award must accompany each entry. An exhibit as published or broadcast, including the name of the media outlet and the date of its use must also accompany entries. English translations must accompany entries in other languages. Eligibility dates and deadline for submission Eligible works must have been published or aired between September 1, 2005 and September 1, 2006.

Deadline for entries is September 1, 2006.

What You Win

The 2006 winners will receive an all expense paid trip to Washington, DC in December 2006. Plaques are presented at a formal ceremony and reception.
