RFI: Medical School Teaching Resources for Africa (9)
-----------------------------------------------------

Dear John,

As the AED-SATELLIFE Center for Health Information and
Technology, we host AFRO-NETS plus another ten discussion groups
on a variety of health topics such as essential drugs, HIV/AIDS,
and cardiovascular health. You can view these on our web site
http://www.healthnet.org
The discussion groups are open to all health workers around the
world.

We also compile and distribute a series of e-newsletters called
HealthNet News:
HealthNet News: Up-to-date, peer-reviewed, clinical and research
information
HealthNet News-AIDS: HIV/AIDS-focused clinical and public health
information
HealthNet News-Community Health: Current, thematic public health
information
HealthNet News-Nursing: Reliable content on nursing practices,
management, and care

Over 26 medical publishers have granted us permission to use
their content from over 60 peer-reviewed journals in HealthNet
News. Surveys that we have conducted show that these e-
newsletters are used widely in medical teaching, writing, and
research in Africa. Given our agreements with the publishers,
HealthNet News is available to health workers in low and middle
income countries only. As such, we cannot make HealthNet News
freely available on our Web site but individuals can subscribe
and receive them via e-mail
( see http://www.healthnet.org/publications.php ).

I hope these resources will be helpful to you.

Kind regards,

Leela McCullough, Ed.D.
