Consultancy Position on Global Health at Doris Duke Charitable Foundation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

[MODERATOR'S NOTE: PLEASE RESPOND DIRECT TO THE DORIS DUKE (mailto:egallin@ddcf.org WITH COPY TO mailto:lengel@ddcf.org)]

The Medical Research Program at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation is seeking an individual with experience in global health to work with foundation staff in planning a possible new initiative addressing health disparities in Africa. Target areas that the foundation is considering for a new global health initiative are health services research and workforce training needs related to the care, treatment and prevention of AIDS and other diseases afflicting the people of the continent. The individual should have at least ten years of experience working in the public or private sector on health issues (with some experience preferably in clinical research and/or training programs) related to Africa and a familiarity with the current funding landscape in the region. An advanced degree in the medical sciences is preferable. We are seeking a professional for either a full-time or part-time (~ 50%) consultancy assignment, starting as soon as possible and lasting up to one year, to assist us in designing the new initiative and developing an implementation plan. The consultant need not be based in New York City where the foundation offices are located. Some international travel is likely. Resumes and letters of interest should be sent electronically to Dr. Elaine Gallin, Program Director for Medical Research (egallin@ddcf.org) and copied to Leslie Engel (lengel@ddcf.org). Please forward this announcement to your colleagues.
