Nigerian court grants use of pseudonym to a woman living with HIV/AIDS (2)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear all,

In as much as we celebrate this outstanding precedent by a law court in Nigeria, we should not fail to reflect on the delay in getting to this point.

It is appalling to note that the case was filed 2002 and four years later, the substantive case is yet to be heard. When do we suppose the case will be disposed off then?

We can see the peril litigants are subjected to. Many things could have happened between 2002 and now to change the status, position or even the life of those concerned. Where then is the justice?

I think we should be mindful of advocating for expeditious trials, even as we celebrate this victory.
