Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health, and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Senior Technical Officer, Health Management Information Systems (Arlington, VA)

Responsible for providing technical assistance and overseeing overall FHI Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) assessment, design and quality implementation for FHI Care and Treatment programs. Will provide technical assistance to Country Offices to foster the use of HMIS data and its standardization. MS/MA/MPH in public health field, and 5-7 years experience in HIV/AIDS or reproductive health with international development programs including at least 5 years in HMIS design, implementation and management; Or PhD, MD or similar degree and 2-4 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS or reproductive health with international development programs including at least 2 years in HMIS design, implementation and management. Overseas field experience required.

Director, Monitoring and Evaluation (Abuja, Nigeria)

The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) is in charge of all Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) activities for Family Health International in Nigeria. Provides leadership to the M&E Department; be involved in overall management and provides technical input to improve and facilitate the delivery of sound technical assistance in M&E, including to the Government of Nigeria (GON) and United States Government (USG) upon request; collaborates closely with other major Stakeholders such as the UN Family or the Nigerian CCM to participate in the implementation and improvement of the National M&E effort in Nigeria. Health related diploma (MD, Pharmacist, etc...) and PhD or similar degree in Monitoring and Evaluation or related field. 8-10 years experience in Monitoring and Evaluation in large HIV/AIDS programs at international level, with at least 3 years of direct experience in developing countries (preferentially in West Africa); sound knowledge of statistics and epidemiology; experience in working with local partners, including host Governments, NGOs and CBOs; knowledge of the Nigerian local context is an asset, as well as familiarity with USAID and PEPFAR programs.

Deputy Director, Technical Support (Abuja, Nigeria)

Under the direction of the Project Director, manage the activities of the staff providing country office and state office level technical and strategic support to the Nigeria program. Provide technical assistance and support to local public and private sector counterparts in building technical capacity for the implementation of HIV/AIDS/STI prevention programs.Masters or doctoral level degree in public health or related field with experience in HIV/AIDS programming. Minimum of eight years with a broad range of experience in HIV/AIDS and in health service delivery programs. Supervisory experience/experience working in technical teams is required. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.

Deputy Director (Nairobi, Kenya)

The Deputy Director is responsible for project implementation at the provincial level and below, including coordination with the Provincial Medical Officer (PMO). Supervises technical and program management staff. Provides overall technical and programmatic oversight and leadership. Accountable and responsible for financial management and oversight. Oversees workplan and program budget development process. Manages the Strategic Partner Management Unit, and ensures excellent working relationships with strategic, technical assistance and implementing partners. Ensures that program management systems and procedures are in place. Position located in Mombasa, Kenya. BS/BA and 9-11 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience; or MS/MA and 7-9 years relevant experience; or PhD/MD or equivalent degree and 5-7 years relevant experience. Overseas field experience required.

Director, Technical Support, Public Health Programs (Bangkok, Thailand)

To provide technical leadership and manage technical capacity development to public health programs in the Asia/Pacific region with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment programs. To work with technical leaders at FHI/USA, regional hubs and country programs on the development and implementation of quality assurance and improvement (QA/QI) systems for FHI's public health programming. To provide leadership in identifying and responding to resource development opportunities to fill strategic gaps in HIV programs and expand programming into other key health areas, including sexual and reproductive health and infectious diseases. Position located in Bangkok, Thailand. Doctoral degree (PhD, MD or DrPH) in public health, epidemiology or related field and a minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience in developing and managing relevant public health programs, especially HIV-related programs in resource-constrained settings. Experience interacting with developing country governments, USAID, DFID or other donors. Experience in the supervision and mentoring of staff and teams. Excellent verbal and written English language skills required, including experience in documenting programs for publication/presentation. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.

Project Manager, Southern Sudan

The incumbent will be responsible for managing HIV/AIDS programming in Southern Sudan. The position will be based in Juba but will report to headquarters office in Nairobi. Main responsibilities include: Act as liaison with relevant private and public agencies, organizations and other donors regarding Southern Sudan programs and activities; Manage the development of country plans, their periodic review and revision; Manage the design of subproject activities and ensures the identification of appropriate consultants and staff to provide necessary technical and management assistance for the programs; Ensure appropriate monitoring of subprojects to achieve financial, administrative, and programmatic goals; Ensure that systems are in place so that each implementing agency fully complies with donor regulations regarding implementation procedures, reporting and evaluation; Perform other related duties, as assigned. Requires Masters or doctoral level degree in social science, public health or related field, and at least seven years experience managing large international development projects to include at least five years of senior level project management experience. Experience must reflect knowledge, skills and abilities listed above. Strong cross-cultural skills required.
