Based in Maputo, Mozambique

CAFOD has been supporting local organisations in Mozambique for 23 years and opened a small country office in Maputo in 2004. A country strategy paper was recently completed and proposes significant growth in the programme over the next 5 years. This short term post will support programme staff to put in place the foundations for that growth.
Working alongside CAFOD’s programme staff you will: Proactively develop programmes and prepare proposals and reports to institutional donors, such as DFID and the EC. Ensure that appropriate monitoring and reporting systems are in place to capture learning and demonstrate that donors’ funds are being well spent. Demonstrate excellent communication and inter-personal skills to work in co-operation with international programme staff, CAFOD partners, and donors. Be self-managing and capable of working to tight deadlines.
You will have strong analytical skills and proven experience of programme design, gained through experience working in a cross-cultural environment. You will be comfortable working with a diverse range of people and effective at communicating in both English and Portuguese. Ideally you will have experience of advocacy as a means of bringing about social change. Based in Maputo, the post will involve considerable travel to Niassa province in the north of the country.
