RFI: Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device and "STI"
------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,
How do I deal with the following case: My wife went to have an Intra Uterine Device(IUD) to be removed. She had the device for six years with no problem. However, she is 36 years old and diabetic. Of late she had been complaining of "pain" during her period. Whilst she was having the device removed, a deposit was noted on the device and she was told she has a "vaginal discharge" and was told that it is caused by a sexually transmitted disease. At time she visited the health centre she simply wanted the IUD removed and was not having any discharge. She was given a prescription was told that "your husband" should be treated as well. I have no reproductive problem I know as of now. She does not believe me when I tell her I am ?a responsible husband" because I have "infected her".
Please help me.
