Dear Colleagues,

The International Centre for Eye Care Education (ICEE) is
currently looking for a RESEARCH SUPERVISOR.

A. DUTIES
* The Research Supervisor will assist staff to write and produce
scientific papers for publication in a range of referred and
non-refereed international publications, including conference
abstracts. The job involves closely working with researcher,
both on a one-to-one basis and as a member of research teams.

* The Research Supervisor will also conduct training of staff
and Post Graduate students on Scientific Writing.
* Proof reading drafted documents
* Performing literature searches
* Planning and writing papers from raw results
* Preparing conference abstracts
* Writing and/or editing book chapters
* Applying for grants and research proposals
* Establishing website content and preparing documents for webs
publishing
* Producing government reports
* Developing training materials for staff

B. SKILLS

ESSENTIAL
* Skill and experience in planning, writing and proof reading
scientific papers for publication in refereed and non-refereed
journals
* Skill and experience in proofreading and editing protocols of
Masters and alike. Expertise in public health and associated
statistics
* Expertise in word processing, particularly MS Word
* Expertise in reference management (EndNote)
* Experience in searching refereed journal databases
* Adherence to deadlines and ability to work under pressure
* Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
* Ability to work with changing demands
* Willingness to work extended hours (after-hours/weekends)
occasionally on an as needed basis

DESIRABLE
* A degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Optometry or any of
the Ophthalmic sciences or OTHER biological sciences)
* Expertise in public health and associated statistics would be
advantageous
