Discussion about WHOPES and Long-lasting Insecticidal Nets to control malaria (3)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All,

I have never made my position on bed-nets a secret. They are at best minimally effective. The only thing I ever observed bed-nets being used for in Africa was for seining a stream for fish. I was a guest in many homes and never observed one being used.

I would think that residual spraying would be more effective in the absence of a comprehensive eradication plan. Now that the truth is known about DDT, residual spraying would be much more cost effective and actually do some good.

I have said it before and I will repeat: people in Africa do not live under a net.

Cheers'
Craig
