Global Programme Advisor Vacancy (Sexual & Reproductive Health)
---------------------------------------------------------------
£19,740 - £26,125 net pa (2 year fixed-term contract) | Pretoria, South Africa
Oxfams global ambition is to play a strategic role in the fight against HIV & AIDS, as part of our mandate to overcome poverty and suffering. Our vision is to reverse the course of the pandemic: stop its spread and rebuild local communities. And, through our Global Centre of Learning on HIV and AIDS (GCoL), we work hard to ensure that we possess the knowledge and strategic direction to support this vision across the entire organisation.
Working with communities, government and partners, youll advise relevant teams so that an integrated, strategic and effective response to the HIV & AIDS pandemic facing Manica (and other communities) is developed. This response will focus on sexual and reproductive rights and health, support advocacy initiatives, encourage learning and ultimately maximise programme impact at both regional and national levels. Your work will also extend to project design, facilitation, capacity building and technical leadership to the GCoL as a whole.
By helping to share your expert knowledge on sexual health and HIV & AIDS, youll be a key member of the team, and an appropriate representative of Oxfam to the broader environment. Your starting point will be a new Sexual and Reproductive Health programme in Manica, Mozambique, where youll be based for approximately the first six months and from where youll gradually expand and extend your knowledge and experience.
With a Masters degree in Public Health or a related field, and specialisation in SRH, youll also bring extensive HIV & AIDS/SRH programming experience. Your proven project and general management and strategic planning skills will be key to success in this role, as will your evaluation and capacity building abilities. Crucially, youll be used to working with multi-disciplinary teams, and be a skilled relationship builder and influencer, capable of maintaining a global perspective in all the work undertaken. Youll be fluent in English, and ideally Portuguese, and have an understanding of the socioeconomic context of the region.
