Dear Bradford and al other who are reading the series on recognition of Condom use by Church - a debate:
I have been working in the field of Community Medicine for the last Seven Years and in my experience in the field of Polio Eradication Initiative and the Field of Routine Immunisation, we have always felt that the efforts put in by Faith Based Organisation plays a very vital role in the system correction and its further disbursement of ideas amongst the community and also plays a significant role in allaying the fear associated with the medical methods applied on the system undertaken by the medical fraternity.
We have also seen that the community is very receptive to the Leader of the faith Based organisation. They do hear them more and that they are more receptive to the ideas put in with medical and religious thoughts into it. It may be so that the people whom we deal with in the parts of the India we work are not that literate and that they are not decisive in many fronts.
As far the statement in question, I have given the preface to let people known that Churches do play a major role in the religious front in the life of the people of Africa where the leader of the Churches should come out with Religious as well as the Scientific facts to the believers in the religion.
As we all believe that the believers will be coming to church only when they are fit to walk from their house to the church and that if they are ill and diseased the churches will have very less people actually coming there. I feel the leaders of the Churches may put the facts to the believers in more scientifically adjusted to religious background but not in sensuous way which is not expected from the Church or any other religious podium in the world.
But keeping the way of HIV/AIDS scenario in the world now, all leaders and other major opinion makers from all spheres of life must come outwingly forward to express the opinion on the ways of prevention to see the near future a good place to stay.
Take Care and CHEERS!!!!
