I am writing to inform you of a project recently begun by the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) to create a database of video-recorded laboratory techniques in the field of mosquito and malaria research. JoVE is a growing, highly regarded video-based online scientific journal. This month JoVE is devoted to mosquito-borne disease research and population replacement strategies for controlling malaria and dengue fever transmission. We highlight the research of Dr. George Dimopolous, Dr. Anthony James and Dr. Charles Taylor to name a few. This issue represents our efforts to raise awareness of the miraculous science being done in this area and to advance this field of vector-borne disease research by disseminating protocol information in our video-protocols at www.JoVE.com.
We plan to follow this field in subsequent issues and we would like to discuss the possibilities of your participation. I would like to know if we can circulate a message about JoVE and this project throughout your foundation. I would also like to know if we could provide you with any of our videos or media to embed on your website to demonstrate the kind of biotechnological tools being developed to fight malaria and vector-borne disease. I am also inquiring to see whether or not we could add a link to our website, where donations can be given to your agency.
Best Wishes,
Aaron Kolski-Andreaco
