Family Health International (FHI) is dedicated to improving lives, knowledge, and understanding worldwide through a highly diversified program of research, education, and services in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, reproductive health, and infectious diseases. We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Technical Advisor, OVC (Arlington, VA)
To provide technical leadership in Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OVC) programming for the Public Health Programs (PHP) of FHI. Main responsibilities include: Provide technical direction and ensure the highest quality of OVC activities of the Public Health Programs through technical input, capacity building and supervision of OVC staff and management of the portfolio; Coordinate and manage activities and technical assistance priorities of staff, consultants and other resource agencies in carrying out the PHP's OVC activities; Stimulate and act as a resource for the development of innovative and expanded responses in OVC through the active involvement of a Global Technical Leadership Team. Master's Degree or equivalent in Public Health or the psychosocial sciences, qualified in child development or welfare with 7-9 years experience. At least seven years experience in the field of children's issues, four of which needs to include working in developing countries. Fluency in French or Spanish is preferred.
Senior Technical Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation (Bangkok, Thailand)
In collaboration with FHI/USA, provides leadership and capacity building in monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance/quality improvement (QA/QI) to FHI/s public health programs in the Asia Pacific Region. BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS, infectious disease or family planning with international development programs; or MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 5 - 7 years relevant experience; or PhD, MD or similar degree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience. Overseas field experience required.
Senior Technical Officer, HIV & IDU (Vietnam)
To provide and manage technical assistance in and ensure the quality of HIV and drug-use related HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment interventions and research in Vietnam and other countries in the Asia Pacific Region. Masters degree or equivalent experience in public health; and at least five years specialized experience in designing and/or providing technical assistance to HIV prevention, care, and treatment programs for injection drug using populations in resource-poor setting; at least two years senior management experience. Experience with U.S. government contractual requirements and experience working in an international NGO/PVO environment desirable. Experience must reflect knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
Director, Shared Services (Nigeria)
Manages all financial aspects of USAID/PEPFAR, DfID, GFATM and other funded projects in Nigeria; ensuring efficient oversight of all finance, administrative, contracts, grants and travel activities. Main responsibilities include: Manages and reviews all financial and administrative functions; Ensures that project policies and procedures are consistent with FHI and donor regulations, including USAID/Nigeria policies and procedures; Coordinates the review of subcontracts, sub-agreements, and other obligations; Overseers purchasing of supplies and equipment for project operations; Responsible for overseeing finance functions and reporting by all field offices and project partners; Participates in the development of the office budget and the budgets of project implementing partners (NGOs, research institutions, etc); Manages project materials and equipments; Manages personnel; Conduct regular audits with project partners; Performs other duties as assigned by the Country Director. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or related) and 11 to 13 years experience in project administration, finance and personnel management, or Master's degree in Business Administration (or related field) and 9 to11 years experience. Experience with USAID regulations is strongly desired, as is PEPFAR experience. Strong working knowledge of computer programs: Word, Excel, etc.
Senior Research Associate (Kenya)
In Conjunction with Technical Supervisor in North Carolina and Operational Supervisor in Nairobi Kenya, develops programmatic research studies from conceptualization to literature review and protocol design; determines technical objectives; oversees incoming data and monitors data quality; and recommends the selection of project staff. BS/BA in public health or related field and 11-12 years relevant experience and professional level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and application; or MS/MA /MPH and 8-9 years relevant experience; or MD/PhD and 3 years relevant experience and professional level of knowledge and expertise in research methods and application.
Country Director, Cambodia
Provides leadership and management oversight for all FHI's portfolio of projects and activities in Cambodia; oversees operations and, as the primary FHI country representative, ensures strong collaboration between FHI and the Government of Cambodia, donors and sponsors. Represents FHI to external donors/sponsors and leads FHI business and resource development efforts in country. Also serves as chief of party (COP) on TASC3 Cambodia. Position is based at Phnom Penh. BS/BA in public health or related field, and 11-13 years relevant experience in international development programs with 5-7 years supervisory experience; or MS/MA/MPH and 9 - 11 years relevant experience; or PhD, MD or equivalent degree with 7 - 9 years relevant experience. Overseas field experience required.
Senior Technical Officer, Strategic Information (Cambodia)
The Senior Technical Officer, Strategic Information is responsible for providing technical leadership and innovation in the area of HIV surveillance, special studies, size estimations and evaluations that will guide evidence-based programming and effective responsiveness to the HIV epidemic in Cambodia. Position is based at Phnom Penh.BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in surveillance, evaluation and research, HIV/AIDS with international development programs. Or MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 5 - 7 years relevant experience; Or PhD, MD or similar degree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience. Overseas field experience required.
