The World Disasters Report (WDR) is published annually, bringing together the latest trends, facts and analysis of contemporary crises ? whether ?natural? or human-made, quick-onset or chronic. Each year, the World Disasters Report focuses on a specific theme, for example, discrimination (2007), neglected crises (2006) or information in disasters (2005), analysing recent disasters through that lens.

The World Disasters Report targets humanitarian aid and development workers at the country and international levels as well as policy-makers, military officials, government planners, economists, company executives, civil society organizations and journalists.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is seeking expressions of interests by appropriately skilled writers for the World Disasters Report (2008), which will focus on HIV. Writers will be commissioned on a chapter- by-chapter basis and the starting dates will be staggered. The time frame is mid- July 2007 onwards to end of January 2008. Would you be interested? Are you available? Send your CV and some recent writing samples by 31 July 2007 to:

Andrew Doupe
WDR Editor (2008)
mailto:doupe@hivnet.ch
Expressions of interest by people living with HIV and women are particularly encouraged.
