Dear Colleagues --
Announcing the launch of Visibility:
Visibility - The Face of the Developing World's Researchers on the Internet:
A Platform for the Communication of Science, Research & All Fields of Study between the Scientists & Researchers of the Developing & Developed Worlds
Visibility Website -- http://mangosee.com/visibility
?
Today, on the internet the scientists, researchers, clinicians, students and research institutions of Africa, Asia, Latin America and the world's other Developing Regions are mostly invisible!
?
In most cases, they're out of sight and out of mind of the researchers of Developed Nations and non-neighbouring Developing Regions.
?
The researchers are there, and they're active, doing a lot of important work, but we just can't see them!
?
Only very few researchers in the world's Developing and Least Developed Countries have a profile of their professional activities on the internet.
?
Their contact details and email addresses are often almost impossible to locate via an internet search engine -- making communications, networking and collaborative efforts extremely difficult to establish.
?
Many universities and research institutions too lack effective websites.
?
Mangosteen aims to go some way to correcting what is a very
obvious problem by establishing the Visibility website.
?
Visibility aims to make the researchers and scientists of the Developing World a little more ... VISIBLE!
VISIBILITY:
Working to Enhance the Visibility of Researchers in Africa, Asia, Latin America and other Developing Regions
Resulting in Better Communications & Networking Possibilities Globally!
Meaning that Everybody Benefits and the Stature of Science & Research in the Developing World Grows!
Visibility is a very special website designed to help scientists and researchers in Developing Countries better communicate, assist and network with others in both the Developed and Developing Worlds. It's a brand new website with a unique approach, which with your input we believe will really begin to have a major impact on the way in which researchers in these sometimes disparate communities communicate and cooperate. Sign up Now to Take up the Space Reserved for You and Your Institution on the Visibility website!
Visibility is a Completely FREE Service for Developing World Scientists, Researchers, Students & Institutions -- There are no tricks, no catches, no contracts -- this is a service that you can trust which has been constructed with the researchers of the Developing world as the focal point. It's important that you know that researchers working in Developing Countries will never be asked to pay for using the website.
Visibility is an extension of the work of Mangosteen -- Moving Scientific Information to the Developing World.
If you're interested please read about Mangosteen's work at

We've Built the Website, You Build the Relationships --
Visibility is not about what we at Mangosteen have to say, it's all about you, your input, discussions, questions and answers. Please read the description below to see how you can contribute many different types of important and useful information to the website's pages, as well as begin to receive the answers you need from fellow researchers. Sign Up & Increase Your Visibility and Productivity Today -- Please register now to begin taking advantage of what Visibility has to offer you and the work you are doing. You will not be able to participate in the activities of the Visibility community until you complete the initial registration form. A Very Personal Note to Conclude - Mangosteen is my initiative. Mangosteen is a small, privately run initiative set up by one person trying to make a difference and working hard to promote the importance of well directed research in both the Developed and Developing Worlds. (I'm a synthetic chemist by training.)
The success of this initiative means a lot to me personally -- I've focused all of my efforts and most of my waking hours on establishing and building Mangosteen over the last four years.
Visibility is Mangosteen's most recent development. Visibility is a completely free resource for Developing World researchers -- it will cost you nothing to use it, and I appeal to use it, keep on using it and encourage your colleagues to use it! Please make the most of Visibility and in time, with your valuable input, it will surely become a truly powerful force for researchers in both the Developing and Developed Worlds. Visibility could change the way that many researchers in the Developed World view the researchers and research activities of the Developing World -- present perceptions are often ill-informed and as a result rather negative and incomplete.
Mangosteen has built the platform and created the website, and now it's for you to fill the database and web space with your profiles, thoughts, ideas, projects, questions and answers. Please get involved. Visibility is a fantastic idea, a brilliant concept, which addresses an obvious disparity between the ability of researchers in the Developed and Developing Worlds to make the most of the internet and electronic communications for the purpose of conducting research.
As one person, with a small initiative based around a big idea, all that I can say in conclusion is that if you, the Developing World's researchers, don't take advantage of this opportunity and exploit what Visibility has to offer, then there really is nothing more that I can do to help. I've put a lot of time and thought into Visibility, I've truly done my best to promote the research and researchers of the Developing World.
A SHORT DESCRIPTION OF VISIBILITY
