Masters Degree in Health Promotion (Howard College) Durban

Applications are invited for the above qualification commencing in February 2008. This qualification aims to develop informed graduates who will be able to critically deploy their expertise and skills in health promotion communication, theory, research, policy and legislation in addressing regional and global development challenges.

Features of the Masters in Health Promotion:
* one year full-time or two years part-time
* four two-week study blocks (i.e. full-time contact)
* 45% course work (including practicum) and 55% research methods and dissertation
* enables you to scientifically develop, implement and evaluate Health Promotion programmes at individual, organisational and community levels
* increases your expertise and skills in conducting health promotion research
* accommodates working participants to facilitate continued professional development

Prerequisites: Applicants must have a four-year degree or relevant postgraduate qualification/s. Extensive work experience and prior learning will be taken into consideration. All students must be able to communicate electronically. Letters are required from employers supporting application.

Diploma Health Promotion (Howard College) Durban

This qualification aims to develop theoretically grounded and skilled professionals in Health Promotion from different health sectors.

Features of the Diploma in Health Promotion:
* one year part-time
* four one-week study blocks (i.e. full-time contact)

Prerequisites: Applicants must have a four-year degree or relevant postgraduate qualification/s. Extensive work experience and prior learning will be taken into consideration. All students must be able to communicate electronically. Letters are required from employers supporting application.
